Order alerts are great for ensuring that your dispensary never misses an order! This can be especially useful in a busy store where someone may not always have eyes on the Orders screen. When an order has been submitted from a shopper online, a notification will pop up on Orders home page. You have the option to decide who gets an alert once the order has been untouched from as quickly as one minute, up to 60 minutes.
How to Add Phone Numbers
Order alerts will send a text notification to the phone numbers listed to inform them an order needs attention.
To do this navigate to your Preferences page.
Once you have entered Preferences click on the Management section. The first thing you'll see is a list of current Alert Numbers.
Select the + sign to add a new number.
Enter the staff member name and phone number where you want them to receive the order alert texts. Then select the days when thy work to ensure they only get texts when it's relevant. Then select SAVE. This won't create them a Baker account and only enables them to receive order alerts.
Current alert numbers can be viewed on the Orders page as well. The name will have a check next to it if they're set to receive texts on the current day. If the name is unchecked, it means they aren't set up for that day.
Order Alert Delays
Setting up an alert delay helps ensure that the order really does need attention before an alert is sent. Underneath the numbers, you can adjust the minutes after an order is placed that the text is sent.
The order alert message will only be sent if the order is waiting in the Accept Order stage. It's helpful to know that this also isn't an exact science. It's possible if the order is accepted within a few minutes of the amount of time your delay is set to, the alert won't send. There are many factors in play since both orders and text messages aren't instant.
How to Remove an Alert Number
Although alert numbers can be viewed on the Orders page, they can only be removed by accessing the Management section in Preferences. Select the red X next to the number you want to remove and confirm that you want to remove that number. If they have a Baker account, this will not be affected.
