Promos, or discounts and deals, are a great way to incentivize a customer purchase. There are many types of promos you can create through Baker, allowing you to offer your regular deals simply. (Find out about the different types here.)
Build a Promo
To get started, click on the Promos tab on the left-hand side of the screen. Once on this page, click the New Promo button on the right-hand side.
This will bring up the basic "skeleton" to build your promo in the ADD OR EDIT PROMO window.
Copy Existing Promo... - If you have a Promo that you'd like to copy, you can select it from the drop-down menu here. (This will auto-fill most of the remaining fields, however, you are still free to manually make changes.)
Title - Create a title for this deal or discount. If you are choosing to set this deal to be public, this shows on your Shop page in the Specials area before all of your other products.
Promo Details - A quick summary of what your customers or patients should expect when applying this discount or deal. This, too, will show publicly on your Shop page.
CODE - Promos can be public or private. Each type will need a unique code to be entered into the CODE field. Public promotions automatically apply the code, whereas private ones require your customers or patients type the code while checking out.
mm/dd/yyyy and mm/dd/yyyy - Dates your deal will start and end on. You do not need to enter these if you don't want, but they allow your deal to automatically appear and/or disappear on any day you'd like.
Order Minimum - This field is not required, but it allows you to say that the cart needs to be at a certain dollar value for the promotional deal to work.
Show in Specials - This is the public or private toggle. Show in Specials is public; these will show on your Shop in the Specials area and no code will be needed by your customers or patients. Don't show in Specials is private, requiring your customers or patients to enter the CODE explained above at checkout.
Med & Rec - This is the option to set your promo to red, med, or both.
This promo should run daily until the expiry date - This option allows your Promo to be available no matter which day of the week it currently is.
This promo should run on specific days until expiry - This allows you to set up your daily deals. The above screenshot shows how you'd set up something like Tincture Tuesday. Select the day (or days) of the week that that deal can be used and/or viewed on.
Select Promo Type - Here is the drop down to select the type of promo you'd like to run.
Don't limit quantity - Most types of deals and discounts don't need to be limited. If you do want to limit the quantity, though, select Limit quantity and enter an amount. This is especially pertinent for BOGO deals. If you don't limit the quantity, someone could order 50 and get 50 for free. With that said, BOGO deals should have the quantity limited to 1 for a true "buy one get one" experience.
NO ELIGIBLE PRODUCT - Click this button will allow you to associate a product or multiple products with this deal.
The first column will show your high-level categories. You can choose one of these. Next, you'll see all weights or units available in that category. You can select one or multiple of these. Lastly, you'll see all strains or product varieties; select as many of these as you'd like.
IMAGE OPTIONS - Click this button to add an image to your deal. These do show publicly on your Shop pages when set to, so feel free to search through our image library or add your own image to make the deal more enticing.
Once saved, your promotional deals will show on individual lines like Loyalty rewards and Menu items do.
You can use the Share Promo button to take the name of your deal and put it right into a Connect message. The Share Promo button appears as a box with an arrow in it:
Like Loyalty rewards, you can edit your saved deals on the Promos page. You can also make them active or inactive with the purple check button. Click it once so that it displays as a red X to make any promotion no longer active.
