Your Baker Shop page is an incredibly simple way to drive revenue by allowing for your customers and/or patients to place online reservations for products. One common concern among our clients, though, is that something that is out-of-stock at the store will still display on the online menu. Luckily, you can setup thresholds so that your online offerings are automatically removed from the Shop once they hit a certain quantity.
Set Up Menu Thresholds
At this time, you'll need to loop in Baker's support team or your Customer Success Manager to get thresholds setup. Here's a glimpse at the backend of your Kitchen, an area that only Baker team members have access to.
As you can see, we have the ability to set a threshold for items measured in both grams and units. In this example, having the Online availability threshold (weight) set to 5 grams means that products like flower would automatically be removed from your Shop as soon as the inventory level hits 5 grams.
The same is true for the Online availability threshold (quantity) field. Having 5 in that field means that any item measured in units (edibles, for example) would instantly be removed from your online menu once the inventory level hits 5. If you had requested that we set your quantity threshold to 8, products would instantly be removed once they hit a quantity of 8.
A handful of older integrations do not differentiate between items measured in units and those measured by weight. In this case, you're able to put request that someone on the Baker team sets one overall threshold for you. If you choose 3, any item that hits 3 grams, as well as any item that hits 3 units, will be automatically removed from your Shop page.
Even without reaching out to your Customer Success Manager or the Baker support team, thresholds are automatically built into the software. If you integrate with a menu source that communicates inventory data to Baker or, alternatively, if you've built products within Baker that have stock level sets up on, any item that hits a quantity of 0 will instantly be taken down from your Shop.
Another important thing to note will be inventory flags that show for your customers and/or patients. When Stock Level Tracking is on, once a product hits 10 grams or 10 units left, it will display a flag on your Shop page letting people know that inventory is low. Here's how it would look for an item measured in weight:
