Kiosk mode lets your customers order ahead or browse your menu from an iPad while they’re waiting in the lobby to be helped by a budtender or anywhere else in your store where you put the iPad. This can help speed things up and let customers make informed choices.
Kiosk Kitchen Preferences Functionality Setup
There are a few important things that must be set up in order to successfully utilize Kiosk mode. Go to the Preferences page in the Kitchen by navigating to the drop-down in the top right.
Once on the Preferences page, navigate to the Functionality section. There's a subsection for Kiosk mode where you can customize how it’ll look to your customers. You'll need to complete all of these settings.
Session timeout - The customer will be asked if they’re still browsing after this amount of time and a countdown timer will begin until the screen times out.
Kiosk order hours - The hours during which Kiosk ordering is available.
Order complete copy - This is the copy that shows on the screen once the customer completes their order.
Activity page - The regular online order experience allows the customer to see their ‘Activity’ page, which shows recent orders. Hiding this removes the option to see their past activity when using Kiosk mode.
Loyalty page - The online ordering experience allows the customer to see their ‘Loyalty’ page, which shows how many points they have. Hiding this removes that option to see their loyalty points while using Kiosk mode
Notifications page - The online order experience allows the customer to see their ‘Notifications’ page where the customer can edit their preferences, manage their text alert preferences, as well as product alert notifications. Hiding this removes the option to adjust those preferences while using Kiosk mode.
Kiosk Kitchen Preferences Outreach Texts Setup
Set up the confirmation texts for customers who order from Kiosk mode. Scroll up to the Outreach section and update both the Kiosk order 'accepted’ text and the Kiosk order 'fulfilled' text so the customer gets accurate information. Be sure the checkbox is selected to enable these texts.
Kiosk Mode iPad Set Up
Open Safari or another web browser on the iPad you plan to use for Kiosk mode. Then navigate to this web address but with one small change: https://app.trybaker.com/shop/PVID?provider=PVID&kiosk=true
You’ll need to replace PVID with your own shop number. You can find that number in the URL that you use for your kitchen.
If your dispensary ID is 115, the link would look like this: https://app.trybaker.com/shop/115?provider=115&kiosk=true
Add an icon for the page to the iPad home screen for easy access. From the Safari page, tap the Share button in the top right and tap the option Add to Homescreen. Then exit Safari and the icon should be on the screen. Tapping that will automatically open Kiosk mode ordering.
The last step is to enable Guided Access on the iPad. Settings → General → Accessibility. Then toggle Guided Access on and set a passcode to disable it if you’d like.
Kiosk Mode Customer Experience
The customer can choose to sign in to their existing account or create an account. If their phone number is already in your Customer Center and they choose to make an account that information will be added to their existing profile.
