The way images are displayed in the Baker online shop product is dynamic depending on the screen size, device, and section.
Product Image Size Recommendations
Square: 1600px x 1600px at 72dpi
Rectangular landscape: 1600px w x 1200px h at 72dpi
Rectangular portrait: 1600px w x 2134px h at 72dpi
Image Handling & Cropping
Because of Baker's various image presentations, product images will experience some cropping pending on the presentation type. For this reason, we recommend that you provide some extra padding around the perimeter of your image if you have content that you do not want to be cropped or masked-out of view.
Note: This guide only covers common aspect ratios (square 1:1 and rectangle 4:3) original images may have different aspect ratios than noted above and this will potentially cause further portions of the image to be cropped. There are other “common” sizes as well such as 4:6, 5:7, etc.
We recommend uploading a large original image, because our image hosting service will generate smaller optimized images as needed pending on the view/device. The original large image will not impact the load time or performance of your site, because the original will usually not be displayed. It’s always a good practice to start out with a large high-quality image when creating variations to avoid degradation.

High Definition Screens
We recommend these large sizes due to the fact there are high definition screens (including Apple Retina screens). Images should be larger (about 2x) for high definition screens than the density-independent pixel (dp) size that will actually be displayed on the screen.
(example: if the display size of an image is 450dp x 450dp, than the source image should be at least 900px x 900px (2 x 450px) to render without degrading on a high definition screen, because the pixel density is typically twice that of a standard definition screen.
