Loyalty rewards provide an incentive for customers to visit your shop. When they start checking in or ordering online, they'll earn points they can use toward customizable rewards. You can add rewards by clicking Loyalty on the left-hand menu while in your Kitchen.
How to Create a Loyalty Reward
You can add rewards by clicking Loyalty on the left-hand menu while in your Kitchen.
To create a new reward, click the New Reward button on the righthand side of the screen.
Reward Name - Name of the item customers can redeem. This shows publicly on your Checkin iPad(s)
Description - This description also shows publicly along with the Reward Name. Oftentimes, clients will put a stipulation into the description such as, "Must be in addition to purchase of $50 or more."
Points cost - Set the amount of points a customer needs to redeem in order to get this item. By default, you will be setup to give 50 points upon someone's first time checking in and 20 points for each visit after that.
Unique code for this reward - If you offer a reward in Baker that has a corresponding discount or coupon code in your point of sale, feel free to list that code here. If you're manually accepting rewards via Baker, this code will show on the banner that pops up when a customer redeems a reward at a Loyalty Checkin station.
Reward type - This field doesn't change the way the reward functions. It's simply a label that will help you and your Customer Success Manager with reporting.
Redemption limits - In this field, you're able to list how many times a customer is able to access each reward. The reminder on the left lets you know that entering 0 into this field results in unlimited redemptions; as long as a customer has enough points, he or she can redeem this reward an unlimited number of times. Listing 1 would allow someone to get this reward only one time, whereas listing something like 3 would allow a customer to redeem this reward up to three times.
Acceptance - Here, you're able to set whether you want to manually approve or reject each redemption or have the reward be automatically accepted. Read this article for more info.
- Manual acceptance
- Redemptions will appear on the Orders page for staff to accept or reject. They will show at the top of your Orders page as a banner, shown below.
- Redemption auto-accepted
- Items will be automatically approved. The banner shown above will never appear on your Orders page.
Custom redemption SMS message (160 characters max) - This is a customizable text sent when a customer redeems points for this particular reward. You can suggest that your customers show the text to someone at the counter to validate the redemption if you'd like.
Upload Image - You'll be required to add a photo to your Loyalty rewards. To upload an image from your computer, simply click the Upload Image button.
Once you've filled in all necessary fields, click the turquoise SAVE! button to save your reward.
Edit an Existing Loyalty Reward
To edit an item, click the pencil-in-a-box button. You'll see all of the fields covered above as well as a delete button. Feel free to delete rewards you no longer wish to offer.
To disable an active reward, click the purple checkmark on the right-hand side of that reward's line item. When you do this, the purple check will change to a red X and customers will no longer be able to redeem see that reward on the Loyalty Checkin app or online.
